Question:
I once heard that when you see "rays" of sun stretching out from behind dense clouds, that those "rays" were not actually sun rays, but the visual process of water being evaporated into the clouds to form rain. Is this true? Thanks! Kelly
Answer:
Hi Kelly - That's not true:-) Those are in fact rays of sun with shadows in between the rays that are cast by the variations in the shape of the cloud that is in front of the sun. These sun rays are technically known as "Creypuscular Rays". Good question! JOEL
